The Tahoe emerged from a need Steve had for a functional backpack that could carry his folding chair along with a cooler. He was biking to the beach one day and realized a design that could fulfill his needs while still being able to use the backpack & cooler as separate pieces.

The unique backpack and cooler system is a patented design that allows one to carry any type/size folding chair, multiple chairs at once or other piece(s) of equipment. The backpack includes a 12 can, insulated cooler that detaches to be used by itself if desired.

Without a doubt the best Beach bag I’ve ever had. After humping packs for 20+ years in the military, two things are paramount for any design: comfort and balance this bag delivers both. I walk a mile almost daily to the beach with this bag fully packed for myself and my 2 year old. 2 chairs fit easily, towels are strapped in with the bungy cords, Cooler filled with drinks and snacks, even a pop tent slung underneath. It’s so comfortable, I can carry my daughter on my shoulders. This product does not disappoint- I’d pay double for a bag like this. Get one!

    Pros:
Love the modularity of the bag. If you don’t need the cooler piece, don’t bring it. If you just need the cooler and not the bag, you can attach the shoulder strap and you’re good to go.
The backpack has a ton of space and has all the pockets and organizers you’d want in a day pack.
    Cooler works really well
It really does free up your hands by combining the ability to have a cooler and beach chairs on your back. No more back and forth to the car for my beach volleyball weekends!

    Cons
Had a bit of trouble with the zipper but that may be because my bag wasn’t too full.
I’d love to see what other uses you could use the back compartment for the folding chairs. Do people still use old school folding chairs anymore? Maybe that’s just me. We garage-sale’d our last one 5 years ago.
The bottom straps for the camping chairs do not look reinforced so I wonder if heavy chairs will take a toll on them before they start breaking off.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Granite Rocx Tahoe throughout these past few months of use! The Tahoe has been my primary daypack for 3-4 months and I have absolutely loved its features, versatility, and durability. So far, I haven’t had any major issues with the Tahoe and its strap systems are among the best on the market for a pack of this type! More than that, the Tahoe has performed well in a wide variety of situations…. Just this past week, I was absolutely drenched in a storm for more than two hours, and the Tahoe kept all of my items dry and well-protected throughout the entire time!

I would recommend the Tahoe for variety of lifestyles and applications, but I think the best application is for commuters, students, and recreation/leisure enthusiasts who are seeking a versatile pack. The Granite Rocx Tahoe has performed very well so far, and I’ve been impressed with its overall quality!

This backpack is the perfect medium between a camelback backpack and a larger overnight type backpack. I’ve had bad experience with the smaller camelback packs because of the lack of storage space, and then heavier packs hurt my shoulders. This Tahoe backpack is honestly lighter than my camelback, but it has about 3 times more storage space and a bunch of extra pockets. This is my goto backpack for all of my day hikes now. The pack costs about the same amount as a regular old Jansport bookbag, but this is low-profile design so it holds the weight close to your back, it has a waste strap a and chest strap to take the load of your shoulders, it has three large compartments, a pocket for your cellphone, a set of straps on the bottom for attaching a tent, and best of all, you can strap a beach chair to the inside of the bag. It also has a detachable cooler that holds 12 beers. This would definitely be awesome for an overnight summer camping trip or any day hike. If I lost mine right now, I would not hesitate to buy another one tonight. 5/5 stars.

I use this backpack every day and I absolutely love it. I put my lunch in the cooler and attach the cooler to the backpack…very handy when I ride my bike to work or when I have a lot to carry. I can attach my jacket or towel on the bottom of the bag using the straps. The water bottle holders on the sides are handy for water and coffee mugs. The spacious interior of the backpack fits all of my materials for the day or when I go hiking. Attaching the chair to the backpack is very convenient for the beach or for hiking. The bag is comfortable on my shoulders and the waist and chest straps help keep the weight of a heavier bag off of my shoulders when going for longer hikes. After using the bag every day for a several months now, the material has proven sturdy and it is not ripping or tearing, even when I jam pack all my “stuff” into it. Overall, I would highly recommend this bag for everyday or outdoor use.

This is a great pack system with a large day pack that is cleverly designed to carry folding chairs. It comes with a smaller pack that attaches to the front of the big pack kangaroo style, and can also be carried as a shoulder bag as it comes with its own strap. On a trip to Hawaii I used the cooler pack for multiple purposes–on the plane to carry items I needed at my seat, including glasses, snacks and reading material, at the store to pack more snack items to stock the hotel room fridge, at the beach to carry water and sunscreen, on a hike to bring energy bars, maps and hat. The oversized day pack has come in handy when I participated in a park clean up project to haul bags of debris out. As a slim woman I found the day pack to be a bit large for every day use but my husband likes the capacity a lot. Overall very handy system that can be used separately or together.

I live in big city but like to get out on the weekends and this backpack was a good purchase. Being able to carry mulitiple items when using public transit really is what I needed. The biggest issue is not hitting others with my chair as I walk by because it is not too uncomfortable carrying it. The detactable cooler is also nice too. Was able to take a few beers out to the lake and not drag the whole cooler. Overall it’s a good backpack for the price.

I’m really happy to have received this as a gift a few months back. Was able to get some end-of-summer use out of it, hauling my huge array of outdoor necessities to the beach and on a few hikes. It easily fits all that fun stuff along with, including my all-important beer stash. And the chair to sit and drink it in. Used refrigerator ice at first in the cooler and it leaked a bit. Ice in a Ziploc was an easy fix. Finally upgraded to store bought ice packs. I most def plan on using it on the mountain this year to carry my gear, as well as beers for the lift :) Very pleased with this backpack and the use I’m getting out if it.

I recently purchased the Tahoe and am very pleased with my purchase. I spend a lot of time doing outdoor activities in the Sierra Nevada’s and around Lake Tahoe, this pack caters to all my needs. I am able to carry everything I need for any activity with the up-most comfort. Overall this is a well designed pack and would definitely recommend it to others.

    Pros:
-Offers everything you find in a name brand pack at a cheaper price.
-Pack is a comfortable fit on shoulders.
-Cooler is detachable. Which is nice for long hikes where weight is important.
-Plenty of pockets to carry other items then a chair.
-Cooler keeps beer really cold on fishing trips.
-When chair is in pack you don’t even feel the weight of it.
-Like having options for attaching a cylinder chair or tent to bottom of pack.
    -Built to last.

    Con’s:
-Shoulder straps can start to hurt on longer hikes. As the straps do not have thick padding like an overnight pack.
-Zippers occasionally get stuck on fabric.
